||Parisa O’Connell Interior Design is full service interior design studio in downtown San Francisco with a focus on hospitality and multi-family residential. We are looking for experienced full-time Interior Designers with 3-5 years experience in a design firm with a Bachelor’s Degree or Associate’s Degree in interior design or architecture. As a small but growing company, candidates must be good communicators and have independent diligence in addition to the obvious strong sense design and technical abilities.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES TO INCLUDE THE FOLLOWING:
•Emphasis on creativity backed up by strong proven technical skills
•Participate multiple projects and work on all aspects of Interior Design/Architecture and FF&E sourcing and specifications
•Be involved with all aspects of the design process from concept through installation
•Ability to assist in determining clients’ goals and project requirements.
•Attend project meetings and coordinate with design team and clients.
•Understand spatial relationships, space use needs and human interaction.
•Prepare and develop creative project narratives and concepts using various media for client presentations.
•Create preliminary space plans and final design plans using CAD software applications.
•Apply knowledge of building & accessibility (ADA) codes to ensure compliance with local & state regulations.
•Select and source materials and finishes as they relate to the project.
•Coordinate with architects, construction administrators, contractors and other design team consultants to ensure integrated services and design.
•Review and provide details for shop drawings.
•Visit project sites for field measurements, construction progress and installation of materials and FF&E.
•Work directly with clients to assist in development of programming including FF&E.
•Sufficient knowledge of code requirements for commercial grade FF&E materials and products.
•Assist in developing project schedule and provide data for estimating project costs.
•Participate in budget meetings and value engineering processes on projects.
•Degree in Architecture or Interior Design with interior architectural experience
•Minimum of 3 years experience in a design firm
•Dedication and passion for Interior Architecture and Design
•Technical drawing ability from 3D Schematic Design through CAD Construction Documentation
•Be proficient in CAD and SketchUp, hand drawing skills are also a plus
•Experienced user of Photoshop & In-Design, hand drawing skills are a plus
•Knowledge of spreadsheets using Excel to organize schedules and budgets
•Must live in the Bay Area or already planning a move to the area
•Ability to think critically, work independently, and communicate clearly
