The FullStack Digital Design-Manufacturing group focuses on addressing the path of a Modular project from initial concept with architect and engineers to a fully coordinated virtual building to the factory floor. As part of a design-build process, designers at FSM work on internal design projects and R&D. The team also facilitates and guides the work of outside consultant teams such as architects, engineers, surveyors, logistics experts, code experts, and others.
FullStack is interested in individuals with strong project management skills and is also capable of communicating modular guidelines and detail through model and drawings with the various design and engineer groups that we interface with on projects. With this communicative role also becomes daily management of the external project team to ensure that the design path is within the FullStack modular framework and that we are meeting goals established with our clients.
In this role you will support the advancement of business development by way of project architectural analysis, or the feasibility of a modular build. Skills in understanding building code and creation of a modular massing utilizing a FullStack kit of parts are typical for this role.
•Provide support to business development in the form of concept architectural delivery
•Provide project management for current projects in terms of POC role for Client and outside design entities
•Maintain Project schedule both with external entities and internal tasks
•Organize and provide administrative oversight of project file sharing for design documents and submittals
•Develop submission protocols for local and state approvals
•Structural analysis and design of steel modular structures
•Steel connection design
•Creating design spreadsheets
•Structural code review
•Drafting structural plans and details
•Communicating with design teams
•Communicating with clients
Education and Background:
•5 to 10 years in architecture or a design background
•Licensure is not a requirement, but considered a plus
•Experience with creation of AEC drawings and specification deliverables;
•Understanding of construction and fabrication methodology
Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities Required
•Must have a core understanding of current design codes, e.g. ASCE 7, OSSC 2014, ACI 318, etc.
•Experience applying new technology, software, and scripting to improve traditional design, manufacturing, and construction processes
•Interest or experience with prototyping and developing new products or design concepts
•Familiarity with industry standard design tools (Revit, AutoCAD, etc.)
•Detailed knowledge of IBC and UBC families of codes
•Project management experience including task allocation and supervising junior engineers
•Strong capacity for research and problem solving;
•Ability to communicate effectively and professionally both verbally and in writing;
•Adequate with Rhino or similar efficient modeling tools;
•Model for Fabrication experience a plus.
•Experience with Steel Volumetric Modular Construction
