||The Information Technology Manager is responsible for installing and maintaining computer hardware, software and networks, developing and implement policies and procedures for electronic data processing and computersystems operations and development across our 5 design studios (with a concentration in New York). In addition they provide training and consultation, and recommendations about future planning and development of resources.
Providing these services in an effective and efficient manner will ensure maximum access to and implementation oftechnology services and resources.
•Understanding of software related to the architecture, interior design, industrial design and graphic design industries such as AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Suite, Sketch Up. Rhino. 3DS Max and Solid works. Experience with maintaining AutoCAD standards a plus
•Working proficiency with typical business software including, Gmail, Outlook, and MS Office Suite including MS Project and MS Access. Experience with database management and database design with Microsoft Access a plus.
•Familiarity with Axium’s Ajera accounting software is a plus.
•Working proficiency with typical server software including Windows Server 2008, 2012, DFS, Active Directory Permissions, Virtual Machines utilizing Hyper-V.
•Troubleshooting, systems backups, archiving, and disaster recovery and provides expert support.
•Administer and maintain computer stations and software for company including providing and maintaining network accounts and passwords as required
•Administer and maintain printing and plotter equipment for the company.
•Working proficiency with both PC and Mac operating systems as we work in both environments.
Help Desk Administration
•Serves as the in house help desk and related activities at the firm wide level but with the support of a third party outside IT service firm with online support.
•Responds to escalated help desk issues.
•Administers and maintains tracking of trouble tickets.
•Interacts with internal staff on all levels to help resolve IT-related issues and provides answers in a timely manner.
•Oversee our IT consulting companies to make sure they are providing good and timely support
•Oversees the administration and maintenance of the company's network infrastructure.
•Leads in the planning, budgeting, and implementation of additions, deletions and major modifications to firm wide infrastructure.
•Implements network security at the firm wide level as established by the Partners and Operations Director and monitors security of all technology
•Oversees the administration of the company's inter-office connectivity between New York, San Francisco and Bangkok.
•Manages and develops upgrades to the company's telephone system at the firm wide level.
•Oversees all telephone changes, including routing for seating assignments.
•Builds and maintains vendor relationships and manages the purchase of hardware and software products.
•Manages the purchasing or leasing of all software, hardware and other IT supplies at the office wide level and manages the computer systems budgets and expenditures
•Ensures that company assets are maintained responsibly - Maintain log and/or list of required repairs and maintenance
•Communicates effectively with staff to identify needs and evaluate alternative solutions.
•Facilitates meetings effectively and holds regular status meetings with Partners, Controller and Operations Director to effectively communicate relevant IT-related information
•Keeps staff well informed of changes within the organization and relays relevant IT-related information to the company in a timely manner.
•Resolves and/or escalates issues in a timely fashion.
•Understands how to communicate difficult/sensitive information tactfully.
•Initiates and implements improvements in all areas of IT responsibility.
•Create, maintain and manage an IT budget for the firm under the direction of the CFO.
•Create, maintain and manage a complete inventory of firm wide IT assets from servers to thumb drives, maintain a log of all hardware equipment and software licenses ensuring complete compliance.
•Serves as main point of contact on all IT-related matters for all firm offices, managing multiple trouble tickets and being able to effectively prioritize them.
•Responds/acts on upper-management direction, and strong follow through ability to ensure timely completion of tasks.
•Identifies and provides standards for gathering information for use in trend analysis and reports information to company management.
•Identifies opportunities for improvement and makes constructive suggestions for change.
•Manages the process of innovative change effectively and remain on the forefront of emerging industry practices.
•Manage various IT consulting companies - stay on top of issues, tickets, communicate on possible solutions to requests, keep tally of bill and verify all looks good.
•Keeps track of lessons learned and shares those lessons with staff.
•Reviews the status reports of team members and addresses issues as appropriate.
•Complies with and helps to enforce standard firm policies and procedures.
•Routinely communicates and updates staff and managers to keep them informed on the status of trouble tickets.
•Bachelor's degree in computer science, MIS or a similar computer-oriented major is a minimum requirement. Master's degree preferred.
•Product or system certifications are a plus.
A Bit About Us.
AvroKO / Brand Bureau is a 150 person interior design firm over 5 locations in four cities – so not a huge IT operation by big corporate standards. We’re a creative collaborative, and while we’re organized and structured, we try not to be too hierarchical.
This position is our sole IT person in the firm – so it’s a one person show, with the support of our third party off site tech support company - Xperteks. It’s a very hands on job, and requires constant interaction with our energetic, fast paced team of designers, and their limited understanding of IT specifics. Patience and good communications will be key.
