We have a current opportunity for a Senior Architectural Designer to join our San Francisco office as a senior team member in our Workplace Studio. Our practices offer local, national and international projects of all sizes including opportunities with our other offices. We are seeking a talented individual with a combination of technical competence, design sensitivity, technical competence, good organization skills and the desire to contribute significantly to a team effort.
•Leading programming, conceptualization, development and integration of strategic design solutions.
•Collaborate and coordinate with other designers, medical planners, project architects and engineers.
•Prepare and lead design presentations with our clients and internal team.
•Prepare and attend project interviews.
•Documenting architectural drawings.
•Researching information and creating graphics for marketing proposals and materials.
•Being the point person with clients.
The ideal candidate will have:
•15+ years of experience, must include experience in Office Workplace shell and core, Science & Technology, and/or Higher Education.
◦Experience Office Workplace interiors a plus.
•Professional degree in Architecture or Interior Architecture from an accredited institution.
•Proficiency in Revit.
•Technical competence and proven experience in schematic design through construction documents.
•Experience in construction administration preferred.
•Strong leadership, written and verbal communication, and organizational skills.
•Confident and effective interpersonal and time management skills.
•LEED AP preferred.
•Professional registration with NCIDQ or ARE.
•Proficiency in Excel, Word, PowerPoint.
•Experience in MS Project, InDesign, Photoshop.
•The ability to work both independently and collaboratively with a team.
SmithGroupJJR offers competitive compensation and an excellent benefit package, including 401(k) and continuing educational reimbursement. We offer 3 weeks of paid time off within the first year of employment, with the option of purchasing additional time off, and pay for 8 federal holidays. We also offer an alternative work schedule that provides employees with an additional 15 days off per year (usually Fridays) to help with work/life balance.
