LEED Gold for HOK Designed Airport

The Indira Gandhi International Airport Terminal 3 in Delhi, India has been awarded LEED Gold by the Indian Green Building Congress (IGBC), the Indian chapter of the US Green Building Council.

Designed by HOK, Terminal 3 has the capacity to handle 34million passengers each year and has been listed as the eighth largest airport terminal in the world at 5.4million sq ft.

I.P. Rao, CEO of Delhi International Airport Ltd expressed pride in the new certification, regarding Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) as ‘one of the best known green building rating systems worldwide'. The project has various sustainable attributes, including large volumes of rain water harvesting systems and a supply of water from the nearby Sewage Treatment Plant for efficient landscaping.
